Dissemination of Research Findings into Child Sexual Abuse in the Federation


The Ministry of Community, Social Development and Gender Affairs will be hosting a number of presentations to make public the results of research undertaken in the Federation last year.

The research into The Perceptions of Attitudes and Opinions of Child Sexual Abuse in the Eastern Caribbean is being presented by the researchers Dr Adela Jones of the University of Huddersfield, UK and Dr Ena Trotman-Jemmott of Action For Children as part of their six (6) island UNICEF funded dissemination tour.

Members of Civil society including NGO’s ( Non-governmental Organisations) Faith Based Organisations (FBO’s) and Community Based Organisations (CBO’s) are invited to attend on Tuesday 2nd February 10.00 – 12.00p.m at the Conference room of the ministry of Community, Social Development and Gender Affairs on Victoria Rd Basseterre St.Kitts.

In the afternoon from 4.30 – 6.30p.m a Public Awareness session will be held for Combined Parent Teacher Associations (PTA’s) and members of the public at the Basseterre High School on Victoria Road.

The researchers are very keen to make the results as widely available as possible and have sent an open invitation to interested persons.
