Fantastic Turn Out for Carnival Parade

Junior Girl Masquerade

The 2010-2011 Carnival Parade exceeded expectations and silenced critics when it turned out on Saturday January 1 2011. Scheduled to commence at 11.00am with the Children’s Parade, it actually started some hours later, but not as late as previous years.

Another departure from previous years was the location of well advertised the judging spots enroute; the first at Greenlands, gave spectators and participants recognisable points from which to watch the parade, stage their performances and exploit photo opportunities.

We here at Kittivisian Life took full advantage and share with you some of the highlights:

Yes I have to say I enjoyed watching the parade. The creativity and imagination of some of the troops was great.

While I didn’t miss the Majorettes, who to me have no place in carnival, one does have to have to ask where were the pans? The only thing resembling a pan was a mock pan on a costume.
