I hope you enjoyed our first issue of Kittivisian Life. It is exciting for me to envision, create and finally launch KL; having long felt a need for such a forum where knowledge could be shared and issues discussed.

I imagine that for most of us, the initial excitement of hosting the ICC Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean was somewhat diminished by the poor performance of the West Indies team. Although their performance was lacklustre and anti-climatic as the hosts of such a momentous event, I believe we in the Caribbean can still take pride in successfully hosting this event that the whole world of cricket came to. Just imagine what the positive exposure to our region will reap in the future.

Following on from the celebrations commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Abolition of the Atlantic Slave Trade, we have one person’s opinion of the pertinent issue of Reparation. Is Reparation a reasonable expectation now in the 21st century?
In future issues, look for featured artists, local poetry, reading lists and much more. Don’t forget, we welcome your comments or suggestions for items you’d like to see in Kittivisian Life.
