WORLD 20/20 TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLAN

TRAFFIC NOTICE

The general public is advised of the following traffic restrictions to facilitate the hosting of the Women’s leg of the ICC World 20/20 Cricket Tournament at the Warner Park Stadium from May 5th to 10th 2010.

PARKING:

Parking will be restricted on the following streets:
i. Losack Road
ii. Victoria Road
iii. Park Range
iv. Taylor’s Range
v. College Street between Maurice Hillier and the round-a-bout

Public parking will be provided on the playing field between Beach Allen Primary and Washington Archibald High Schools. Security will be provided. Paid parking will also available at Port Zante.

No public parking will be permitted at the BHS grounds. Staff will be granted access to the school on presentation of their staff ID.

Patients and employees of Medical Associates will also be permitted access to the premises.

TRAFFIC FLOW:

• Traffic flowing on Victoria Road will enter from Taylor’s Range only.
• Only the vehicles of accredited vendors and caterers will be permitted to enter the stadium, after being searched at the Youth and Community compound.
• Traffic will flow eastwards only (towards the Square) along Central Street between Church Street and West Square St.

PICKUP/DROP OFF:

• Public Service vehicles will drop off patrons to the stadium on College Street, near the Methodist Church.

• Parents dropping of students for the Basseterre High and Maurice Hillier Schools are asked to do so on College Street at the alley way close to Maurice Hillier.

PUBLIC ACCESS TO STADIUM:

Access to the stadium for match ticket holders will be via the main entrance on Losack Road and at the ticket center on Park Range.

Patrons with tickets for the players pavilion, heads of committees and caterers will enter through the western gate close to Carnival Village.

Volunteers and other stadium staff will enter through the gate at the Football ticket center on Victoria Road.

Patrons with tickets to the corporate boxes will enter through the VIP gate on Losack Road.

Accredited vendors will enter through the marathon gate on the southern end of Victoria Road.

Only teams, officials and media personnel on foot will be permitted entry through the main gate on Park Range close to the Cricket Academy.

TIMINGS

Parking restrictions will take effect daily from 6:00 am to half hour after the games.

CONCLUSION

The above measures were designed to improve the safety of patrons and other road users around the stadium, as well as to facilitate quick and easy access for emergency vehicles in case of an emergency.

Traffic signs will be posted indicating the restrictions and officers will be on duty to enforce them.

The Traffic Department solicits the cooperation of the public, in particular residents of the area, and extends apologies for the inconvenience.
