CONCERT: “As Long As I Have Music”

St Christopher Choral Society presents a concert entitled “As Long As I Have Music” at the Wesley Methodist Church Hall at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday May 9th 2009.

The concert will open with 'A Little Jazz Mass' by Bob Chilcott, five movements of the traditional mass, set in five different jazz styles, from light rock to blues, and accompanied by Gairy Knight, piano and Tom Miller, drums. It is a glorious piece and a challenge and one to which the singers are rising and loving it all.

Then follows two examples of 19th century Romantic part-songs, one of which is conducted by Clyde Richardson, before Boy Zone makes it debut. Boy Zone is nine musical, delightful students from Basseterre High School, who will sing 'Sixteen Tons' and 'Mister Sandman'.

The rest of the evening will be mostly songs from the shows, one of which will be conducted by Pam Wall, featuring as soloists, Rena Warner and some children from Sandy Point Primary School, Carol Mitchell, Elsie Caines and Keith Kramer.
