Now that you’ve had your face deep cleansed and well moisturized, you need to carefully choose your make-up. Foundation and powder should be tested against your skin colour. Usually it is best for you to check that part of your hand that has the same colour as your face. For some persons it’s the inner side of your wrist, for others it’s the outer of your palm. Choose the shade that matches your skin colour.

Your make-up bag or kit should include a selection of: foundation, concealer, powder, eye pencil, lip liner, eye shadow, lipstick/gloss, blush, sponge wedges, brushes and other applicators. You are now ready for the “make-up” application process. To cover dark spots usually caused by blackheads or other discolouration, it is advisable to use a concealer.

Step 1
Use concealer to hide dark spots if necessary. Then apply foundation to entire face and neck areas using a clean “sponge wedge”. Apply concealer, then foundation with wide edge of sponge and gently blend outwards.

Step 2 - Eyes
Softly brighten eyebrows with matching eye pencil. Then sweep a neutral colour over the entire eyelid from lash line to brow. Use a medium colour in the outer corner and lower lid of the eye to emphasize your natural contours and the darkest colour to add depth. Use eyeliner pencil in black to rim the eyes top and bottom. For that extra smudged look squeeze eyes shut a few times. If using mascara, double coat lashes with dark brown or black mascara. If you have chosen to wear more intense eye make-up, a neutral colour is recommended.

Step 3 - Cheeks
Lightly powder entire face and neck area. Lightly dust cheeks with selected blush (optional); be sure to cover cheeks and temples to give a bit of warmth. Re-powder your entire face and neck.

Step 4 - Lips
Line your lips with liner, prep lips with lip balm, and then glide on lipstick. Blot and apply a second coat.
