Water
Store water for drinking and sanitation in every possible container – bathtubs, buckets, plastic containers and other suitable vessels. Remember each individual needs an average 13 gallons of water a day for drinking, hygiene and washing.
Drinking water should be kept in bottles with secure caps on them. Five or six gallons per person should be allowed for drinking and cooking. Uncovered containers should be treated with common household bleach (2 tablespoons per gallon) every three or four days to prevent contamination. DO NOT USE for drinking. To reduce the breeding of mosquitoes, cover tubs and buckets without covers with plastic sheeting.
