A number of development projects for Nevis are expected to be the major outcome of a one week visit to Taiwan by Nevis’ Premier, the Hon. Joseph Parry.

Premier Parry and Minister Robelto Hector will leave on Sunday to be met on arrival at Taiwan’s Taoyan International Airport on Tuesday morning, by a Taiwan delegation. They will later call on H.E. Francisco H.L. Ou, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Premier’s agenda will include, among other things, a visit to the Council of Agriculture, the Taiwan handicraft promotion Center, the Government Information office and a visit to the Embassy of St. Christopher and Nevis.

“I look forward to this trip as I plan to have discussions on funding for the Fine Arts Theatre and Police Barracks with the Taiwanese Government,” remarked Premier Parry

Since taking office in July 2006, there has been a deep commitment and confidence in the steady and sustainable growth of bilateral relations between the Nevis Reformation Party Administration and Taiwan.

Technical cooperation agreements between both countries have covered Agriculture, a scholarship programme and medical equipment improvement among other development projects.
