ECCB Governor Presents 2009-2010 Annual Report

ECCB Governor Reports on the Bank’s Efforts to Maintain the Stability of the ECCU Financial System
Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), Sir K Dwight Venner will update the public on measures the Bank has been undertaking to ensure the safety and soundness of the region’s financial system when he presents the ECCB’s 2009/2010 Annual Report on Tuesday 29 June at 8:00 p.m.The presentation, which will be broadcast simultaneously on radio and television stations in the eight ECCB member countries, will highlight the policies and programmes the Bank, in collaboration with its member governments, has put in place to enhance the monitoring and regulation of the commercial banks and to strengthen the regulatory framework governing the operations of the non-bank sector.
The Governor’s report will also highlight the economic challenges facing the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) and the way forward for transforming the region’s economies and improving the standard of living of ECCU citizens.
The presentation will be aired in the Federation on ZIZ Radio and Television, WINN FM, VON Radio and KYSS FM.
The text, along with audio and video recordings of the Governor’s presentation will be available on the Bank’s website (www.eccb-centralbank.org) from 8:00 p.m. on 29 June.
