The Zion Moravian Church Presents EMANCIPATION CONCERT 2012
The Zion Moravian Church invites all Moravians and the general public to share in and enjoy Emancipation Concert 2012 on Sunday, 5th August 2012 at 6.30pm, which commemorates an event of significance to all of us of African descent, regardless of our religious, political or other differences. While we cannot and must not forget the atrocities of the past, our resolve must be to keep forging ahead as individuals, communities and as a nation.
This year’s concert will focus on the early years of Moravian work and witness in St. Kitts – both events and personalities, including influential Moravian enslaved persons in the Caribbean in the pre-Emancipation era. This is the 178th Anniversary of Emancipation.
The programme includes vocal selections from Choirs and soloists as well as instrumental music, dancing, poetry, historical nuggets, miming and more.
So come out in your numbers and bring along your friends. The evening promises to be entertaining, informative, inspirational and stimulating.
See you there!
Admission: Adults $20; Children under 12 pay $10 at the door.
