Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya is a fun-filled series that I would highly recommend reading for a good laugh and a good cry. Fruits Basket takes place in Japan, from the perspective of a girl who has come across a family with a strange zodiac-animal curse and her struggle to free her friends of this dark lifestyle. Of course, along the way, she comes across humor, love, and tragedy. Fruits Basket currently has sixteen volumes available in English in most book stores in America. This series would generally interest teenage girls, but can be enjoyed by any age group.
