EC$5,000 AWARD FOR THE EVERYDAY FINANCIAL HERO

FIM Logo 2009“The Everyday Financial Heroes Project”
is the first in a series of initiatives being piloted as part of Financial Information Month, October 2009.
Everyday financial heroes are persons from humble beginnings who, by working hard and managing their money wisely have achieved their financial goals of owning a house, sending their children to college or owning a business.

This initiative seeks to emphasise that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary successes in their finances and is a collaborative effort between financial institutions, LIME and SKNVibes.

The public is invited to nominate someone for this award by texting 7586 using their LIME phone, the person’s name, address and one sentence indicating why the individual nominated should be considered to be an Everyday Financial Hero. LIME will select, via random draw, winners from among participating texters each week for top ups ranging from $5 – $50.

The list of nominees will be narrowed down to ten persons who have given their approval to participate in the programme. Their photo and a brief biography would be posted on SKNVibes and the public would be encouraged to vote for the person whose life story best embodies the theme for Financial Information Month, October 2009 “Save and Invest Today…Enjoy Tomorrow”.

The Everyday Financial Hero who receives the most votes will be awarded a prize valued at $5,000.00.
