SKN Bodybuilders Attend the 38th IFBB Central America and Caribbean Amateur Body Building & Fitness Championship in Aruba.

A delegation comprising of 6 persons left the federation to participate in the 38th IFBB Central America and Caribbean Amateur Body Building & Fitness Championship on the 25th of September 2010 held in Aruba.

Body Builders from St.Kitts and Nevis

They were:

    Sylvia Francis Official Delegate.
    Desmond Liburd Coach.
    Kishandra Williams Athlete who competed in the Body Fitness (Nevis).
    Jalmyn Myers Athlete who competed in the Welter weight category (Nevis).
    Vernon Francis Athlete who competed in the Middle weight category (St. Kitts).
    Collin Lazarus Athlete who competed in the Heavy weight category (Nevis).

Twenty one (21) Countries were represented at the event including St. Kitts and Nevis, Barbados, Bahamas, Columbia, El Salvador, Bermuda, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Anguilla, Puerto Rico, and host country Aruba just to name a few.

Finals consisted of the best 6 athlete in each category. Mr. Vernon Francis was the only athlete from the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis who made it through finals in his Middleweight category after numerous comparisons with his other components for compulsory poses. The placing was as follows:

1st Luis Plata from Columbia,
2nd Rene Griffith from Barbados,
3rd Hasten Ali from Venezuela,
4th Vernon Francis from St. Kitts and Nevis,
5th Jose Corona from Aruba and
6th Ronald Brooks from Trinidad and Tobago.

Mrs. Sylvia Williams Francis, Vice President of The St. Kitts Nevis Body building Association would like to make special appeal to the young people of St. Kitts & Nevis, to encourage them to get involved with body building and fitness training because it is a very healthy sport and with hard work and dedication can result in positive impact on their lives and afford them opportunities for further personal development.

Glenn Phillip, Minister of Sports for affording the Athletes the opportunity to make this trip a reality and to serve as a proud ambassadors for our country, The Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, Sylvia Williams-Francis and family, friends, Assistant Police Commissioner, Mr. Joseph Liburd, and supporters especially Fabbie and partners of Fabulous Gym in St. Paul’s Village, Mr. Goma and staff at the SKNIS, Management at The Labour Spokesman, The Democrat Printing and The SKN Vibes.
