1st place winner James Gumbs 2012

They came out in their hundreds for the “Essence Of Hope Walk for The Cause – Race For Life” on Saturday 27th October 2012. They gathered in the car park of Caribbean Cinema, where they had a fun warm-up session and registration.

They walk got off on time, and there was a buzz of excitement as they headed out to the F T Williams Highway. They soon separated out into their levels though, with those who decided to run taking off at considerable speed leaving those who preferred to pace themselves behind.

At the end of the race the 1st placed male was James Gumbs (aka BB)James Gumbs 2012 Winner Essence of Hope – Race for Life, second and third placed males were Romaine Belgrove and Sheldon Henrickson respectively; 1st placed woman Heather Demming.

After a sumptuous breakfast served by the members of Essence of Hope committee and volunteers there was acknowledgements to sponsors Digicel, The Bottling Co who provided the water to keep everyone hydrated and Ashbury’s who provided gift-bags for the prize giving; prizes went the Natta Family, for biggest family; Best Decorated T- shirt was won by Marlene Fyfield

and the biggest group was The St. Kitts, Nevis and Anguilla National Bank. The Teachers Union also turned out in force in recognition of the collaboration with the Essence of Hope.
