The Water Services Department is encouraging residents living in the areas of Basseterre, St. Peter’s, Frigate Bay and the South East Peninsular to make an extra effort to conserve water considering that water levels are low due to a malfunctioning pump.
The Department is working as quickly as possible to replace the pump in the Basseterre Valley as soon as possible in order to put the well back into service.
The Management of the Water Services Department is therefore encouraging all residents particularly those living or working in Basseterre, St. Peter’s, Frigate Bay and the South East Peninsular to:
-
* Check premises for leaks and have them repaired immediately
* Report all other suspected leaks to the Water Services Department at 466-3070 or 466-1467
* Avoid using hoses and sprinklers to water lawns
* Avoid using hoses to wash vehicles and buildings
* Generally, monitor use of water and be as conservative as practicable
The cooperation of all is greatly anticipated
