Basseterre, St. Kitts (December 6, 2011) –

The St. Kitts Electricity Company Limited (SKELEC) announced on Tuesday that the electricity supply to the Basseterre North Feeder would be interrupted for one hour to facilitate emergency maintenance work ahead of the pre-scheduled Mattingley Heights 8-hour outage.

Chief Technical Officer John Krupski said that between the hours of 5:00am and 6:00am, on Wednesday, December 7th, 2011, the following areas would experience an electricity supply interruption: Taylors, College Housing, Shadwell, Greenlands, McKnight and La Guerite to Boyds Village.

SKELEC said it regretted any inconveniences that the scheduled interruptions in electricity supply may cause and reiterated its commitment to provide reliable electricity supply to all of its customers.
