2013 Caribbean Port Games Champions Are…..Operations!!

SUNDAY MAY 19, 2013; ANOS VALE, KINGSTOWN, SAINT VINCENT and the GRENADINES –

ASCCCP WhitsunOperations edged out Security by one point to win the 2013 Caribbean Port Games, which was contested at the Anos Vale Sports Complex on Sunday May 19, 2013.

It was not a country versus country competition, but one where the participants from all participating countries are divided into four houses namely Operations (red), Security (green), Marine (yellow), and Maintenance (blue).

The Games rules dictated that all teams had to be a mix of male and female participants, supervised by the Department of Sports of the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Continue reading

It was a packed house at the Pentecostal Church of God in Saddlers on Sunday 11th November 2012, when members, invited guests and visitors gathered to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the founding of the church.

Over fifty years ago this year the founding Pastor Bishop George C. Gilfillan and his wife Emily had the inspiration to start a church in the rural community of Saddlers, Government regulations did not allow for any additional church to be built in Saddlers at that time. Thousands Of Cholera Cases Confirmed In Haiti Since Passage Of Sandy

The number of cholera cases in the French speaking Caribbean Community (CARICOM) country of Haiti is on the increase, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The organization says Haitian officials have confirmed 3,593 cholera cases and another 837 suspected cases since the passage of Hurricane Sandy late last month. Continue reading

The second staging of the 25 Most Remarkable Teens Awards, showcased young people who were chiefly acknowledged for their ability to overcome challenges and their volunteerism.

During a live, televised sitting of the St. Kitts and Nevis Parliament on the evening of November 14, the 25 young people were presented their awards by their Constituency Representatives who had nothing but praise for the upstanding citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis. Continue reading
