ESSENCE OF HOPE WALK FOR THE CAUSE – RACE FOR LIFE

They came out in their hundreds for the “Essence Of Hope Walk for The Cause – Race For Life” on Saturday 27th October 2012. They gathered in the car park of Caribbean Cinema, where they had a fun warm-up session and registration.

They walk got off on time, and there was a buzz of excitement as they headed out to the F T Williams Highway. They soon separated out into their levels though, with those who decided to run taking off at considerable speed leaving those who preferred to pace themselves behind. Continue reading

COMMUNITY OUTREACH REACHES BASSETERRE TO WESTFARM

The Community Health Services of St. Kitts and its partners are promoting the physical wellbeing of residents by means of another Community Health Outreach.
On this occasion, the Outreach is directed at residents from College Street Ghaut, Basseterre to West Farm who are being invited to get free HIV, blood sugar and blood pressure screenings as well as Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments. Continue reading

Washie Beats Off The Competition for Essence of Hope

Students of Washington Archibald High School once again demonstrated their talents, this time in art and design; taking two out of three places in a T-shirt competition entitled “Raising your level of Expectancy and Creativity”.

The breast cancer support organisation Essence of Hope launched the competition in March 2011, as the first fund-raising event for their 2nd annual ‘Walk for the Cause’ Race for Life Walk-a-thon. Continue reading

Reach For Recovery – 9th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

Breast Cancer Support Group Reach for Recovery will be holding their Annual Walk, this time dedicated to one of their members – Egan Guilbert Frederick who lost her fight against the disease earlier this year. The walk will commence from the Area just outside of Windsor University and end at the Park in her home town Molineaux village.

Please make every effort to go out and support the group who provides emotional and financial support for persons diagnosed with the illness.
