ECCB Launches Its First Ever ECCU Innovation Contest for High School Students

As part of the activities for Financial Information Month 2012, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) will host, for the first time, an ECCU Business Innovation Contest for High School students.

The theme for Financial Information Month (FIM) 2012, “Challenge Yourself: Innovate-Compete-Succeed!” recognises the importance of innovation in the current economic and financial environment and challenges the citizens of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) to become competitive and endeavour to succeed. ECSRC Suspension of Broker

NOTICE


The Eastern Caribbean Securities Regulatory Commission (ECSRC) has suspended the broker dealer license, number SL-PL-0009-11, of Financial Investment & Consultancy Services (FICS) Ltd effective 10 July 2012. Such suspension is pursuant to Section 66 (3) (a) of the Securities Act No. 21 of 2001 of the laws of Saint Lucia (the Act) as the company has ceased to meet the requirement for licensing in accordance with Section 48 (3) (b) of the Act.

FICS cannot carry on the business of a licensed broker dealer in the Eastern Caribbean Securities Market until this requirement is satisfied.

DEVELOPMENT BANK SPONSORS YOUTH CAMP BUSINESS PROGRAMME

Basseterre, St. Kitts, (SKNIS):

The Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis has partnered with the Department of Youth Empowerment in support of a new business programme that will prepare youth to become drivers of the economy.

The financial institution presented a cheque for $15,000.00 to facilitate an entrepreneurship initiative designed to expose 250 young people to the theory of small business development with some practical experience. Continue reading
