EDITORIAL

We are in the height of summer and it is not only the environmental temperature that is rising here in St. Kitts. Election fever has stepped up a pace and raised tempers as well as temperatures. The current slew of court cases brought by the opposition against the government seeks to protect our constitution and has generated interest not only in St.Kitts but in the whole of the English speaking Caribbean that has similar constitutions to ours.  Both parties are represented by legal counsel from various Caribbean countries and this has highlighted the inter-relatedness of our common legal system. Perhaps here at least CARICOM is a reality. We continue to follow the progress and will ensure that our readers are informed of the outcome. Continue reading

The Information Technology Training and Management Project (ITTMP) Closes With ICDL Certificate Presentation

The culmination of the 4 year EU funded project in St. Kitts and Nevis saw some 43 persons receive their International Computer Driver’s License (ICDL) at the OTI in St. Kitts

In the presence of the Minister of Education Honourable Sam Condor, The National Authorising Officer in the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Mrs Hilary Hazel, Mr Brian Lashley representing Illuminat ( Barbados) Mr Osmond Petty Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education gave some background to the project and outlined some of the advantages the graduates would experience, as the first of those he predicted who would benefit from forthcoming changes in requirements for entry into the Civil Service.
